Damn that sux to hear about these new 4GB Black Slims, bout them not being moddable. I bought mine 12-08-11 from GamHavent attempted to open it yet though to truly check what type of drive I have inside and firmware models.. I do know it says it was Manufactured on 10-31-11. So from what I've been reading, it very well might have the new Philips-LiteOn DG-16D5S (Slim) drive inside it. I just bought it though to replace 2 other phat boxes that burned out with the RRoD known issues. So That's why I just bought brand new one. Thought it would have better CPU/GPU and RAM. Making it look lil better on HDTV's. I could be wrong though. Either way, I have been seeing that c4eva's crew ARE currently working on an LT+ 3.0 CFW for these drives with that OFW. Anyone else hear of the XK3Y USB tool you can get that sits between the DVDROM in your box on the outside with a lil mini-computer running Linux that EMULATES the DVDROM itself. Allowing you to play your ISO's (stealth patched, if your no dummy) right from a external USB HD that connects to it. I am thinking that I might get that next to get this all working smooth as possible and to avoid trouble flashing updated CFW down the road. |
